The focus of Scofield&#8217;s Transitional Kindergarten program is hands-on, center-based learning with a focus on emerging literacy and math.\u00a0 It is more rigorous than our Pre-K 4 program, but not quite as advanced as Kindergarten.\u00a0<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/p><hr \/><h4>\u00a0<\/h4><h4><span style=\"color: #bca16f;\">Curriculum<\/span><\/h4><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Bible<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is taught in chronological order using child-centered Bibles and stories. Each week there are scripture verses aligning with the Bible story, that they practice and memorize weekly.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Language<\/b> <b>Arts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in TK focuses on developing early reading through phonics skills, and writing. The curriculum begins with learning how to write uppercase and lowercase letters and transitions to decoding CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words, such as &#8220;cat&#8221; and &#8220;dog.&#8221; By spring, many students start reading simple books, such as Bob Books, and continue to explore word families. This balanced approach helps students build a strong foundation in literacy while preparing them for more advanced reading and writing activities.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Math<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> instruction guides students from basic number recognition to understanding addition using manipulatives.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Science <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">activities provide varied interactive experiences such as cloud-in-a-jar experiments, moon observations with a telescope, and exploring simple machines through fun physics activities.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Fine and gross motor skills <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are still growing at this age.
